Moorfields and Dem Dx join forces for new research partnership

Moorfields Eye Hospital and Dem Dx announce new research partnership

Moorfields Eye Hospital and Dem Dx have announced a new research partnership to trial a new clinical decision making tool for paediatric nurses.

The trial will see 13 paediatric nurses use the Dem Dx platform to assist them in triaging conditions such as types of conjunctivitis, cellulitis and acute onset squints in children, with the aim of this leading to earlier and more accurate detection of eye diseases in children.

Paediatric A&E charge nurse at Moorfields Eye Hospital Lauren Blackshaw said: ‘We are delighted to partner with Dem Dx. This has the potential to improve the existing high quality of care for our patients and make a significant difference in how quickly they are treated. It also offers a first innovative training platform for our paediatric nurses and an opportunity for them to expand their role.’
